VIDEO: Drivers and Traders Complain about the Closing of Roads to KEJETIA Market

Major Roads leading to Kumasi Kejetia were blocked today, traders who sat by the road side were asked to relocate to Abinkyi and Race Course Markets.The relocation exercise is to pave way for contractors working on the first phase of the Kejetia Redevelopment Project to have access to the roads around the project and upgrade them.
The move follows an eviction notice served by the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council calling for vacation of such places by Monday November 10.
The arrangement also precedes the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa Afua Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.  The exercise is also to help ease the heavy vehicular and human congestion, and to also pave way for some rituals to be performed as part of activities marking the final funeral rites of the Late Queen mother of Asanteman, Nana Afia Serwaa Kobi Ampem, who passed on in 2016.
